MÆDON is a force to be reckoned with; this Baltimore-born, Berlin-based techno architect has been storming the studio and establishing a mighty presence in the underground techno scene.

Mainly releasing on flagship techno label Sonic Groove, EPs ‘Against His Will’ and ‘Escape to Berlin’ have become firmly entrenched in the sonic echoes of the global nightlife. Follow up full lengths ‘Now I Am Become Death’ and ‘The Lion and The Ram’ (the latter written with Adam X and released on Tresor Records), further mark her unique production style.

MÆDON (MAEghan DONovan) got her start in the rough and tough streets of Baltimore, where stagnation in the local scene soon accelerated her desire to take a chance and move into the unfamiliar and sprawling urban landscape of New York City. Before arriving, she completed her first release ‘serpentine servitude’ as ‘pulsewidthmod’, delivering a solid EBM inspired EP for the acclaimed label Detroit Underground. Even though Maedon would abandon this project name, the release caught the attention of Sonic Groove Records, the legendary Brooklyn label now located in Berlin. Continuing to develop her sound and technique along the way, the techno capital would become the final destination of MÆDON’S urban pathway.

A wizard in the studio, MÆDON is known for her all-gear live sets, which are must- see events where dance floors become mesmerised by the collage of irresistible electronics and pounding grooves. MÆDON’S sound is dark, heavy and exciting, a unique hybrid of techno influences with a notable touch of rave. MÆDON likes to provide more than just rhythms for the dance floor. She wants her audience to think as well and the atrocities of the powerful are a favourite target. “We live in a world where we are ruled by madmen. People follow orders by those in command, and it causes death, repression, pain, suffering … so my sound is me literally saying “Everything is Not O.K.”.

As a resident at the world famous Tresor Club. She enjoys the physical energy resulting from the sonic vibrations and feeds off the energy of the audience. With all of her projects, MÆDON is eager to help showcase the feminine side of techno, and demonstrate great music can be written by any sex.

In the Summer of 2023, she launched her imprint, Rant & Rave Records. Rant & Rave will be a collection of music of music that she loves with the main driving vibe of high energy dance floor killers. Don’t expect for the styles to be all the same either, her inspiration for the label is the 90’s techno where productions were diverse with an overall vibe of futuristic sounds.
